London - Day 3
For our final day in London, Wes and I started the day by heading to Arsenal’s soccer stadium. Arsenal is a team in the English Premier League, one of the top soccer leagues in the world. We didn’t get to go inside the stadium because we were in a little bit of a time crunch but it was cool to see the stadium and imagine what game day would be like for an English football match.

From there we headed to Buckingham Palace for the changing of the guard. When we arrived it looked more like a parade than a changing of security because there were so many people there. We ran into a few other Luganoers and made a game plan for the rest of the day.

Camden was our next stop for some shopping and lunch. Camden was pretty much a town of Middle Eastern store fronts all selling you the same thing for the same price. So much for playing one store against another. Wes, David, Jill, and I then decided to head to the British Museum before Jill caught her flight to Lisbon. The British Museum was one of the first museums that I really enjoyed and found interesting. While we were there we saw Cleopatra’s mummy, the Rosetta stone, and part of the Pantheon. For me personally, this is much more interesting than the religious art we’ve seen in some of the other cities.

After the British Museum, Wes and I finished up the day by visiting Stamford Bridge, the home of the Chelsea Football Club. We went a little too late for a tour but we walked around the outside and visited the team store. It was cool to see the excitement for the newly acquired Fernando Torres. I thought Arsenal’s stadium was much cooler but it was interesting to see where Chelsea, one of the top clubs in Europe, plays their games.
After a quick nap, happy hour, and dinner (in that order) we headed out for our last night in London. It was good to see a lot of our friends before we all headed separate ways. The next morning we woke up and barely made our train to Paris. Our final destination on our first ten day break.
