Michelle and Dad come to visit - Liechtenstein

One of the weekends I was looking forward to most on my trip to Europe was the weekend my Dad and Michelle were planning to come visit. Not only would it be good to see them and share all the experiences I’ve had so far but it was also nice to get some time away from the group and reflect on my Eurotrip to date.

Dad and Michelle arrived in Lugano on Wednesday night after already being in Zurich and Interlaken for a few nights. I filled them in on my last trip and took them around to the different parts of Lugano that have become a part of my everyday life. Unfortunately, we didn’t get dinner at the Montarina and I was reminded by everyone how much I missed out because it was Lasagna night. The next day I met up with Dad and Michelle at lunch and we went to the Doner Kebab place for obvious reasons. After I rushed through a midterm exam I met up with Dad and Michelle and we headed into the Alps to start our weekend.

The first 10 day comes to an end…

After a rocky trip to Paris we navigated our way through some pretty ugly streets and found our hostel. Unfortunately, we couldn’t check in so we hit up this little coffee shop across the street from our hostel. The espresso and club sandwich hit spot since I was feeling pretty bad due to lack of sleep and some mysterious rash that came from the beds in London. It was awesome to see the tower lit up at night and the flickering lights that go off every hour. However, I didn’t have my camera, I may have broken my back, and I was told to never come back again by an African street peddler.

The next day I woke up feeling a ton better and we decided to head out for a day of “touring.” Our first stop was Notre Dame, the famous cathedral in Paris. It was interesting to compare Notre Dame to some of the Italian churches we’d seen so far.

From Notre Dame we walked along the Seine River and got a better feel for the Parisian atmosphere and culture. Some of the highlights included a bridge with locks on it, pictures of naked women on postcards, and crepes. After a quick bite for lunch

London - Day 3

For our final day in London, Wes and I started the day by heading to Arsenal’s soccer stadium. Arsenal is a team in the English Premier League, one of the top soccer leagues in the world. We didn’t get to go inside the stadium because we were in a little bit of a time crunch but it was cool to see the stadium and imagine what game day would be like for an English football match.

From there we headed to Buckingham Palace for the changing of the guard. When we arrived it looked more like a parade than a changing of security because there were so
